“Recovery is not waiting for the rain to stop. It’s learning how to dance in the rain.” -Anonymous

Recovery support is an evidence-based practice and Recovery Specialists are among the fastest growing workforces in the United States. The behavioral health field has recognized that people who have overcome mental health challenges can be a valuable asset to those who are trying to get there. This is similar to the model that has been used by addiction specialists in substance abuse treatment for decades.

Recovery is the stage where your mental illness is not the prevailing theme in your life. Mental illness does not define you. You are a person first.

Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. It looks different for different people. But you’ll know when you reach it.

To get there, you might have to do things that you’ve never done, take new challenges, or even risks. It might mean finding a support system, or creating your own. It might mean taking a job, or volunteering a few hours a week.

Even if you’re not ready to consider making positive changes, you might want to talk to someone who understands. Let’s problem solve. Let’s dream, Let’s achieve. I’m here for you. Let’s talk.

“I have the battle scars to prove that I have been in the fight. I have Recovery to prove that I have won.” -Cynthia Leslie
